This Privacy Policy describes how Nature by EatDirt ("Nature," "we," or "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our services. Nature helps farms and food businesses record and share the traceability information increasingly expected across the food supply chain, including by regulators and by the retailers, restaurants, and distributors they sell to.

1. How traceability information moves

Nature is built to make certain records portable. Information such as lot codes, commodity names, quantities, and the dates and times of events like harvest, cooling, packing, and shipping is created so that it can be passed to your buyers and recipients and, where required, to regulators. When you use Nature to generate a document or trace, you are directing us to make that record available for those purposes. This kind of operational information is generally not personally identifiable, and moving it is a core function of the Service rather than a disclosure of personal information.

2. Information we collect

We collect:

• Information you provide when you create and manage your account, such as your name, business name, email, and contact details.
• The operational and traceability records you create in Nature, such as your products, locations, lots, and the events you log.
• Information you enter about the businesses you sell to, such as their names and delivery addresses.
• Basic technical information, such as device and usage data, that helps us operate and secure the Service.

3. How we use information

We use the information to provide, maintain, and improve the Service, to generate the documents and traceability records you ask us to create, to authenticate and support you, to communicate with you about your account, and to keep the Service secure. When we analyze information to improve Nature, we rely on aggregated or de-identified data.

4. How information is shared

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share personally identifiable information with third parties for their own marketing or independent use.

We share information only in these limited ways:

• Traceability information you direct us to move. Lot codes, event data, quantities, and similar operational records are shared with the buyers, recipients, and regulators you provide documents or traces to, and may appear on shareable records tied to a lot. This is the core purpose of the Service.
• Providers who help us operate the Service. We work with a small number of trusted providers who help us host, run, and support Nature. They may use the information only to provide their services to us and are bound by confidentiality and data protection obligations.
• Legal and safety reasons. When required by law or a regulator, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Nature, our users, or the public.
• Business transfers. If Nature is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that transaction and remain subject to this policy or a comparable one.

5. Documents we generate for you

Nature creates records on your behalf, such as invoices, packing and delivery records, and lot trace pages. These contain your business's information and information about the buyers and recipients you have entered, and they are created so you can provide them to others. You decide when and to whom you share them, and you are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter and for how you distribute the finished records. We retain copies as part of your account and the traceability history of a lot.

6. Your data and your control

The operational and traceability records in your account belong to you. We handle them on your behalf and on your instructions in order to run the Service. You can access, correct, export, or delete your information and close your account using in-app tools or by contacting us. Once you have shared a document or trace with a buyer or regulator, we cannot retract information already in their hands, and we may retain records we are required to keep.

7. Data retention

We keep information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. We may keep it longer where necessary to meet legal, tax, dispute resolution, and recordkeeping obligations, including the food traceability recordkeeping requirements that apply to you. We may retain aggregated or de-identified information without time limit.

8. Security

We protect your information using appropriate administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards. As with any online service, no system can be entirely secure, but we work to keep your information safe and to respond promptly if an issue arises.

9. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to certain uses. To make a request, contact us at the address below and we will respond as required by applicable law.

10. Children

The Service is intended for businesses and is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
